A couple hours later, my shift was over, so I was heading for home. As I was walking down the street to where I parked my car, oh, I forgot to mention, Greyson bought me a car for my 16th birthday! I felt a vibration coming from my back pocket. I pulled out my phone and flipped it open. I smiled when I realized I had gotten a text from Greyson. It read, "Filming's done 4 th day. Dinner @ Whitespot @ 6? Luv u!" I smiled again. Whitespot was one of my favorite places to eat! They had the best food there, and it was a really fancy restaurant. I texted back, "Sure, meet u there! Luv u too!" I shut my phone and shoved it back into my pocket. I got to my shiny, purple car and climbed into the driver's seat. Fumbling with my key chain, I found the right key and then stuck it in the ignition. The car vroomed into life. The local radio station came on and Greyson Chance's Hold On 'Til The Night was playing.
I thought about Greyson for a moment. He'd really come far. Hard to believe that just four years ago he was just a normal 12 year old who loved to play the piano.
Just then, the radio announcer started talking. I turned up the volume so I could hear better. He said, "...And that was Greyson Chance. He's been doing really well lately! Well, you know what I just heard? He actually just got signed on to do a movie about himself. Crazy, right? Yeah, I can just see those millions of fans lining up for blocks just to see him on the big screen." I laughed out loud at the thought. The announcer continued to talk. "And this is what he had to say about the whole thing." I turned the volume up louder when I heard that sweet, Oklahoman accent. "It's been just such an amazing journey so far, and I was so ecstatic when I heard that I was gonna be in a movie. I mean, I just have to thank the fans for this. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for them." Then another song started playing. I put the car into reverse, pulled out of the parking lot, and headed for home to get ready for the dinner date.
